Welcome to the 2006 Bethel Spring Series! Thanks to everyone who showed up for Sweep Day. It was an awesome turnout and everyone did a great job. Those there for the whole time will be credited for two races per week for the Series. The course looks as good as it can after a recent snowfall - the shoulders are relatively snow and sand free. The road is essentially dry and in good shape. Note: as stated before, these credits are not transferrable. Now back to our regular program: Once again you can start off
your year of racing by racing at a
friendly and fun race. We have two big changes to announce
for
this year:
1.
The addition of another race each week. This is a
first,
with 3 weeks of an Open Women's race and 3 weeks of a Masters 30+ race.
Yes, 30+, not 35+ - this was just changed as of mid January.
There is no overall prize for the Masters 30+ races.
However the Women's Open races will count towards the overall
Women's championships as the M40+/Jr race will not have a Women's field.
2. Champion System has stepped up and provided us with bright new Omnesys Leader's Jerseys. As usual, the jerseys are loaned out to the current weekly leader and at an awards ceremony on the last week, the overall winners will be able to permanently receive their Leaders Jersey. Preview them here. This year will be the second
year we hold separate weekly events with a
separate USCF Permit number for each week. This has allowed
us to
increase the prize money we can advertise and will help you with your
USCF rankings in the state and overall. When possible we
report
the top 10 finishing places to the USCF.
Per usual, online registration is available at BikeReg and RaceListings. Overall leaders will be tracked for the following categories: 1. Category 5
Overall rankings are
determined by Series Points awarded each week:2. Category 4 3. Juniors 4. Womens 5. Masters 40+ 6. Category 3-4 7. Category Pro-1-2-3 First Place: 7 Series Points
On the last week, the winner
of the race will be awarded 10 Series
Points, with second place at 7 Series points, down to seventh place
with 1 Series Point.Second Place: 5 Series Points Third Place: 4 Series Points Fourth Place: 3 Series Points Fifth Place: 2 Series Points Sixth Place: 1 Series Point Best teams will be tracked for: 1. Category 4
