We've been awarded Permit 130 for this year. The second permit in CT. The first is the Shartkozawa Clinic (see link to left).
Sundays, March 7 - April 18, 2004 except April 11 in Bethel, Connecticut

First Race starts at 8:00 a.m, registration opens at 7:00 a.m.

We will be providing providing an overall leaders jersey for the training series (one each for the Pro 1/2/3, 3/4, M40+, W, Jr, and 4 races). Each week the race leader will compete in the distinctive leaders jersey (please return them after your race!) and the overall GC winner takes it home! Leaders jersey washing between races provided free of charge :)

Note: Category 5 racers *MUST* race the Category 5 race. There are no day of race exceptions. You can petition our representative (her info is on the index page).

This will open in a new window and list all the Bethel Spring Series races.

Prizes - Prizes awarded in cash and merchandise. Prizes include minimum top 3 cash for each race. M40+, Women, and Jr.'s are scored separately. Cash prizes will be awarded for Overall placings in all categories. We will also award trophies for the top 3 overall of each category at the end of the series. In addition, we will offer Cash and Merchandise Primes. Also, the team that scores the most points in the Pro/1/2/3, 3/4, 4, and M40+ races will win a nice, huge trophy. Points from the top 3 team members count. In addition to that, Carpe Diem Promotions will award a "TBD" prize.

NOTE: VOLUNTEERS! We have need for helpers on March 6th at 10 AM (Sweep Day) as well as during the Series. The Bethel Spring Series is known for the clean, swept road surfaces, even though the race happens at the beginning of the season and the rest of the area roads are salt and sand covered. This is not an accident. Sponsors, promoters, and cycling fans help sweep the course the day before the first race, and the mornings of each successive race. If you would like to earn free entry into one of your weeks of racing, volunteer for the Sweep Day! You will receive free entry for 1, 2, or 3 races on a week of your choice (you must be qualified to race in your chosen races). In addition, we appreciate any help in setting up or breaking down the races. For each week you help with either, we will offer you one free race. Please email me if you would like to volunteer or if you have any questions. Thanks!

Upgrade points - The Series cannot count for *all* of your upgrade points. However, you may list each result separately on your resume. Category 5's can use the Cat 5 race. Cat 4's may use either the 4's or the 3/4's. Cat 3's will probably need to use the Pro 1/2/3's (unless 60 Cat 3's race the 3/4 race). M40+, Women, and Juniors can list their race, however, the field sizes may not meet minimum upgrade requirements. Based on the estimated time of each race, all should be long enough for upgrade purposes.

Course - The course is a wide, secure, 0.90 loop with one hill.

Other Information -

Very cool looking Long Sleeve Leader Jerseys will be handed out to each Individual Overall Leader each week. One will go to the following categories: Cat Pro 1/2/3, Cat 3/4, M40+, Women, Juniors, Cat 4. These will be returned each week, and the overall winner will keep one at the end of the Series. Bethel Spring Series Points will be awarded each week, 1st = 7 points, 2nd = 5 points, 4 pts, 3pts, 2pts, and 1 pt for 6th place. The last week will award 7 places per race with the winner getting 10 points, then the next 6 places being the norm, i.e. 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. These are not to be confused with USCF upgrade points - they do not count towards your upgrade.

Promoter reserves the right to combine or separate classes. Field Limit 100 (50 for Category 5). If necessary we will hold two Cat 5 races, with the field split into even and odd numbers.

If you have specific questions about the Bethel Training Series just send an e-mail and we'll be glad to help you.
