Pro-1-2-3: With a field decimated by weather, the P/1/2/3's lined up with Anthem-CCCC stalwarts Mike McGinley (overall leader) and his trusted lieutenant Ron Fantano.  A number of teammates lined up with them.  Challengers included the only one with a realistic shot of taking the overall, Eneas Freyre (Target Training) and with an outside chance of a win, Jacob Hacker (Unattached).  McGinley played things to perfection, taking third behind Skip Foley (360 Racing Landrys) and Freyre.  Hacker took fourth, Robert Wing (Somerville) took fifth for the second week in a row, and Kyle Wolfe, assistant director of the Target Training Women's team, took sixth.  Pictures here.

3-4's: The racers fought a  big battle for overall here with leader Bryan Haas (Zephyr) gathering as much of the team as possible to help defend his overall lead.  CT Coast Cycle, with two very close challengers in Ryan Haug and Rob Marcinko, lined up with eight riders, and held a numeric advantage.  There were some outside challengers but it seemed apparent these two teams would be fighting the hardest.  A number of cold wet laps shelled a few riders and in the confusion Haug escaped on his own.  With CT Coast Cycle all over every attempt to bring him back, Haug rode the race the hard way and solo'ed to the finish.  With the 10 points on the line, he'd also take the overall.

On the last lap CT Coast Cycling energized the field with a huge leadout.  All the contenders were there and it was a fair and tough sprint to the line.  JP Kaminski (CT Coast) won the sprint, followed by Marcinko.  Haas took fourth and with that took second for the overall.  Hunter Provonost (Anthem-CCCC) finished fifth on the day and Junior racer Graham Lang (CRCA) took sixth.

M40+:
The M40+ was another field decimated by the weather, especially with the overall essentially sewn up by Target Training's Morgan Stebbins.  Nevertheless Stebbins showed up with two teammates - and the three Target Training riders ended up being half the field!  They TT team roade aggressively, launching attack after attack up the road.  The other three riders, consisting of Tom Cromie (Sleepy Hollow) in third overall,  Jim Escobar (Honeywell), and Gene Pringle (TriState Velo), ended up having to work to hold the small group together.

There was no sitting in during this race and all the racers were together going into the last lap.  Eastin launched a furious attack at the bell, chased by the three non-TT racers.  The predictable result was that Escobar, Cromie, and Pringle chased, leaving Stebbins and Spears to finish one-three.  Incredibly Eastin hung on for second, earning him fourth overall.  The three non TT racers finished with Cromie fourth, Escobar fifth, and Pringle sixth. Cromie, the only overall contender in that list, jumped to second overall (over third place Bethel Cycle Stephen Gray, who chose to sit out the day).

Women: With all the top three places decided already (based on the points and who showed up) the race was a formality.  This did not mean the women didn't race.  Overall leader Anna Milkowski (Target Training) and second overall teammate Kathleen Billington both separated themselves from third overall Tania Ayoub (CRCA/MSSC) and Target Training teammate Amanda Lozano.  Billington went to win the race in front of Milkowski, and Ayoub took third in the sprint with Lozano.

Juniors: The Juniors decided to race the larger field and better paying Cat 3/4's.  Incredibly, two of the three took money spots, making the effort worthwhile.  A bonus was that before the race, those in the overall could collect their GC prizes.  Bob German (CCNS/Pedal Power) officially won overall.  Graham Lang took second.  Robert Schmit (Capital Bicycle Racing Club) was third overall, based on his previously earned points.
